TAOS YOGA
ON THE ROCKS

Yoga on the rocks, "that sounds interesting, where?"

In the famous art colony town of Taos NM, "Sounds fascinating, tell me more!"

We're having a weekend of yoga and fun, rockclimbing and personal discovery amid the spectacular high desert scenery of northern New Mexico.

Allowing nature and the rocks to be your guide, you will practise asanas and climb the beautiful granite boulders of Tres Piedras wilderness area whilst absorbing the energy and elements of this Enchanted land.

Yoga in Sanskrit means "Union", principally union of Body-Mind-Spirit. Through the intergrated principals of yoga, you will learn to harmonise breath, movement and concentration to cultivate your intrinsic internal energy. Emphasising the principals of relaxation, slow balanced movement, suppleness and deep breathing, you will gain access to the optimal energy and calm focus required for a smooth and graceful practise. Chandra, our yoga teacher, who is also trained in classical Indian dance, will teach you not only new, exciting and creative techniques to enhance your yoga practise, but also how to transfer this "union" of skills to the vertical dimension of rockclimbing
Taos Mountain Skills Rockclimbing School who have guided professionally in the region for many years will be your climbing guides for the weekend.

Discovering the clarity and contentment, wellbeing and emotional balance these practises bring, you will enjoy a flexibility of mind as well as body, maintaining an aura of calm and tranquility in any given situation. You also know you are creating and expressing from your deepest source of power, your "true self".

Yoga on the rocks

To protect what is wild is to protect what is gentle. Perhaps the wilderness we fear is the pause within our own heartbeats, the silent space that says we live only by grace. Wilderness lives by this same grace.

– Terry Tempest Williams

Yoga on the Rocks

Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the wind longs to play with your hair.

– Kahlil Gibran
